We cannot change our circumstances,
but we can ask God to change
our attitude toward them.
When we cast our cares
into His sea of love,
He changes not our situation
but the way it affects us.
(by Fr. John Maronic, OMI)

For every joy that passes, Something beautiful Remains.....
Home
Who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time...

And who can say if your love grows,
As your heart chose?
Only time...

Who can say why your heart sighs,
As your love flies?
Only time...

And who can say why your heart cries,
When your love dies?
Only time...

(interlude - no lyrics)

Who can say when the roads meet,
That love might be,
In your heart.

And who can say when the day sleeps,
If the night keeps all your heart?
Night keeps all your heart...

(long interlude - no lyrics)

Who can say if your love grows,
As your heart chose?
Only time...

And who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time...

Who knows?
Only time...

Who knows?
Only time...

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves lives a memory no one can steal.....

God shall wipe all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
nor crying, nether shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Our friends are like angels,
Who brighten our days.
In all kinds of wonderful,
ways.
There are two ways to spread the light,
To be the candle
or........
the mirror that reflects it!

- Edith Wharton

We are each of us angels with only one wing and
can only fly embracing each other.

- Luciano de Crescenzo

I will not forget you. I have carved you on the palm of my hand.

Death is nothing at all
"I believe that if I should die,
and you were to walk near my grave,
from the very depths of the earth
I would hear your footsteps."

Benito Perez Galdos

"I look at life as a gift of God.
Now that he wants it back
I have no right to complain."

Joyce Cary

When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced.  Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.

Cherokee Expression

Hold on to what is good,
even if it's a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe,
Even if it's a tree that stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do,
Even if it's a long way from here.
Hold on to your life,
Even if it's easier to let go.
Hold on to my hand,
Even if I've gone away from you.

Pueblo Indian Prayer

There are two lasting bequests we can give our children:
One is roots.
The other is wings.

" Some things have to be believed to be seen."
--- Ralph Hodgson

Sometimes when a light
goes out in our life
and we are left in darkness
and do not know which way to go.
We must put our hand into the hand of God
and ask Him to lead us...
and if we let our life become a prayer
until we are strong enough
to stand under the weight
of our own thoughts again,
somehow even the most difficult
hours are bearable.
(Helen Steiner Rice)

You have to take risks," he said. "We will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen.

our sight, but they are always looking down upon us."
-Jean Paul Richter

Silently, one by one,
in the infinite meadows of heaven
Blossomed the lovely stars,
the forget-me-nots of angels.

Remember Me As you are wakened in the morning by the song of a bird ...
I AM FREE

Don't grieve for me, for now I am free,
I am following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ahh, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with time of sorrow,
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times,
A loved one touched.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, he set me free.

To Michael From Jennifer Jungersen
Letter From Heaven

To my dear family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said "I welcome you".
It's good to have you back again, you were missed when you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on that list, was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you...in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years,
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain,
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er,
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too:
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow or in pain;
Then you can say to God at night..."My day was not in vain".
And now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as in your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.

Death is nothing at all

"Death is nothing at all.  It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well."

Henry Scott Holland

GOD'S LENT CHILD

"I'll lend you for a little while
a child of mine," God said-
For you to love the while he lives
And mourn for when he's dead.

It may be one or two years
Or forty two or three
But will you, till I call him back
Take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you
And should his stay be brief
You'll have his lovely memories
As a solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay
Since all from earth return.
But the lessons taught below
I want this child to learn.

I've looked the whole world over
In search for teachers true
And from the things that crowd
Life's lane - I have chosen you.

Will you give him all your love?
Nor think the labor vain?
Nor hate me when I come to take
This lent child back again?

I fancied that I heard them say
"Dear Lord, thy will be done
for joys thy child will bring
The risk of grief we'll run.

We will shelter him with tenderness
We'll love him while we may
And for the happiness we've known
Forever grateful stay.

But should thy angels call for him
Much sooner than we've planned.
We'll brave the grief that comes
And try to understand.

" The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost." --G.K. Chesterton--
God's promises are
like the stars;
the darker the night
the brighter they shine.
-David Nicholas-
